Atanas Kozarev

Platform Engineer at Capgemini

December 2023

Cal was part of a team of 6 software engineers graduating from the School of Code intensive web-development bootcamp and team ArchItects (accent on AI) successfully won our project for website redevelopment of Birmingham Artificial Intelligence Meetup, BrumAI for short. We celebrated our 6th year now and have a community of over 2200 developers, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, people with interest in AI/ML, who meet regularly in-person and online in the West Midlands. Soon after we started the project it became clear that Cal (and the others) were super excited to work with us! Cal started the initial kick-off call and they gathered our requirements, set up a Trello board to project manage the successful completion of our website redesign. Cal worked on the Instagram API integration, amongst other work items. We discussed a large range of features, some essential and some nice-to-haves (stretch goals). The team were able to self manage, focus on the essential features, and have shown excellent ownership and management of the project as a whole. Excellent communication skills and they have been able to justify their design and tech decisions, given the constraints of our team when the project is delivered and maintained by us later on. Now we are in week 3, starting week 4 and we had a running demo and we touch base once a week and are super thankful for their experise! Both Nathan and I are wow-ed at the features and design ideas that this 'dream team' comes up with! Thanks Cal and team.

I had the pleasure of working with Callum on the redesign of our Brum.ai website, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. From the get-go, Callum and his team brought an infectious energy to the project, setting the tone for the entire collaboration. Callum, in particular, stood out for his confident chairing of meetings; leading discussions of design and implementations. What impressed me most was Callum's (and the teams) ability to identify the absolute must-haves within our tight development window. It saved us time and headaches! Callum worked on many things during the project but was instrumental in our social media integration across the site, which was one of our core requirements. We're super excited by the result; the new Brum.ai website is a testament to the team's talent and dedication. For anyone seeking a top-notch web designer and a fantastic team player, I wholeheartedly recommend Callum.

Callum remains ambitious and is now at a stage in his career where he has proved his capabilities as a businessman, an entrepreneur and has the confidence to present his talents as an architectural designer, not only in his professional role, but also by allowing peer review through his publications. Furthermore, his interest and application of a number of programming languages further enhance his functional abilities. This is a man with commitment and passion who continues to push the boundaries and share his eclectic mix of well-honed skills and attributes. He remains energetic, focused and is driven by a commitment to sustained self-improvement whilst his work ethic contributes to those who employ him, or partnership with him, to achieve the greatest successes.
